Charger boys and girls cruise to wins on senior night

North Montgomery’s girls swimming and diving team celebrated senior night by coming away with a 115-67 victory over Seeger Thursday at Linden.

The victory capped the girls regular season at 12-6. The boys defeated Seeger 122-49 to improve to 12-4 on the season.
In the girls meet, three North seniors came away with first-place individual honors on a night where they were recognized. Megan Bohlander won the 200 IM with a time of 2:45.05. She added a runner-up finish in the butterfly. Julia Pierce won the backstroke in 1:11.56 and took second in the 200 IM. Evie Nichols won diving with 148.90 points.

Bohlander also was part of North’s first-place 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.

Junior Emily McIlrath and sophomore Kelly Thompson were each won two individual events for North. McIlrath won the butterfly in 1:05.28 and the breaststroke in 1:12.83. Thompson won the 200 freestyle in 2:18.04 and the 500 freestyle in 6:12.27. McIlrath and Thompson also were part of two first-place relay teams.
Junior Erin Redmaster won the 100 freestyle in 1:01.47 and took second in the 50 freestyle.

Seven different Chargers brought home first-place individual honors in the boys meet.

Kevin Amstutz won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.12. Garrett Gates won the 200 IM in 2:40.90. Bart Powell won diving with 148.60 points. Todd Mellish beat the field in the butterfly in a time of 1:09.59. Elliot Davies won the 100 freestyle in 58.14 seconds. Cary Gephart won the 500 freestyle in 6:08.88. Wade Miller won the breaststroke in 1:12.19.
Amstutz and junior Eric Spencer were part of three first-place relay teams.

North’s boys return to action Feb. 6 when they host Fountain Central.

Western Boone 106, Lebanon 79 (girls), Western Boone 119, Lebanon 58 (boys)
The girls finished their regular season 8-4, while the boys improved to 4-7.

In the girls meet, Natalie Jarrett and Julia Perkins each won two events and were part of two first-place relay teams. Jarrett won the 200 IM in 2:22.96 and the backstroke in 1:04.54. Perkins won the 50 freestyle in 27.16 seconds and the breaststroke in 1:11.66. They were also part of the first place 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Mikada Gregg (diving), Kayti Greene (butterfly) and Abby Emmert (500 freestyle) also won individual events for the Stars.
In the boys meet, Adam McCoy won two events and was part of two first-place relay team. McCoy won the 200 IM in 1:19.42 and the backstroke in 1:00.42. He also competed on the first-place 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams.

Dylan Pike won the 50 freestyle in 24.50 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 53.67 seconds. Dean Kinslow won the 200 freestyle in 1:51.65 and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.61. Blake Mohler (breaststroke) and Ryne Clark (butterfly) also won events for Western Boone.

The boys return to action Tuesday when they host West Lafayette.
