Cristianne Ray, World's Smallest Mom/Mum at 2ft 7 in

At just 2ft 7 inches tall, 19 year-old Cristianne Ray has become the smallest living woman to give birth. She has defied medical experts who said carrying a baby inside her pint-sized body would crush her lungs and kill her.

Doctors feared for Cristianne’s life and when they first heard of her unplanned pregnancy they urged her to have an abortion.

Cristianne was determined to have her baby, despite the risks, and now, against all odds, sits cradling her newborn baby in her arms. Proud dad, Jeremy Bowden towers over the pair of them at 6ft 4 inches. Baby Kyrsten was born 4lb 8oz and 14 inches long – almost half the height of her 31 inch mum.

"American Idol" rejects Stratham teenager Julie Dubela

Julie Dubela, a 17-year-old Stratham resident, appeared on Fox-TV’s “American Idol” on Wednesday night. She did not advance from the audition round to compete in the finals in Hollywood.

All three judges — Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson — voted against the local singer. Cowell said Dubela was “over-indulgent” in her performance of the Janis Joplin classic “Me and Bobby McGee.”

The performance was recorded in 2007, when Dubela was 16.

Dubela said on the show that she had turned down a chance to sing the national anthem at a Boston Red Sox game that night in order to audition for “American Idol.”

Dubela was a semifinalist in 2003 on “American Juniors,” a spin-off of “American Idol” for younger singers. She has sang the national anthem at Fenway Park in the past, as well as at Gillette Stadium for a New England Patriots game and at TD Banknorth Garden for Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins games. In 2005 and 2006, she appeared on the Discovery Kids and NBC show “Endurance: Tehachapi,” a show similar to “Survivor.”

Dubela sings the national anthem regularly at University of New Hampshire athletic events.

Britney Spears Hospitalized Again for Evaluation

Britney Spears was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric hold early Thursday morning, after being transported by ambulance from her Studio City home around 1 a.m.

An LAPD source tells PEOPLE: "Spears was escorted by police and is on her way to get help."

The singer, 26, was transported to UCLA for a 72-hour emergency hold, known as a 5150.

Police or a mental health professional can request one if a person is deemed to be a danger to him and herself or others. (Spears was held at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on such an order earlier this month, following her Jan. 3 custody standoff with police.)

Spears's mother, Lynne – who's in the midst of a tense reunion with her daughter – friend Alli Sims and confidant Sam Lutfi were all inside the gated mansion when police and the fire department arrived.

What brought on the hospitalization? "She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman," says a Spears family source. "Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening."

Earlier in the evening, Internet rumors claimed that the singer had attempted suicide, but Lutfi and Sims both denied those claims to PEOPLE.

Since the January standoff, Spears has been stripped of visitation rights for her two sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1. Two sources have said she suffers from a psychological disease, with one source saying, "there is no question she is bipolar... she's had manic episodes for years."

As last night's incident unfolded, a Spears source told PEOPLE simply, "Pray, please."

Simon gets extra cranky in Miami on ‘Idol’

This has generally been a feel-good season for “American Idol,” with Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell offering helpful advice as often as biting criticism from their perches behind the judges’ table.

From the first auditioner in Miami, it was obvious that this city would be different, and it’s possible that the culprit wasn’t the lack of talent, but the proliferation of nighttime entertainment.

Shannon MacGough began the day singing “Cry Baby,” by Janis Joplin.

The 18-year-old seemed to have a lot going in her favor, like a camera-friendly job working for her parents in their meat market and a copious amount of background footage that aired before she sang. But right after she finished, Simon laid down the hammer.

“I had a late night and I’m not feeling great anyway, and you just made it a lot worse,” he said.

That was a sign of what was to follow, as a lot of Miami hopefuls got an extra-large dose of sarcasm from the judges.

Rejects run the gamut
Ben Hausbach had the best lyric switch, singing his own version of Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock” where “I remember when rock was young, me and Paula had so much fun.” She wasn’t impressed, and he got the boot.

Richard Valles sang a little Rascal Flatts, but his rendition of “Bless the Broken Road” was cringe-worthy. Randy tried to imitate the nasally sound, then gave up and sent him away.

Grant Rhea’s voice was a little to high for Simon’s taste. “I’m tempted to say come back in a dress,” the judge said, overcoming his temptation as he did so. Not surprisingly, Rhea got denied as well.

Brandon Black provided the humorous badness, doing a weird comedy/singing routine that ended the Miami auditions and saw the judges walk out while he was still finishing up his performance. “The audition was verging on desperation, from the weird wig, the horrible dialogue you used, the terrible singing...” Simon said, before running out of words entirely.

But Julie Dubela had the rudest awakening, perhaps because she labors under the impression that “American Juniors” is remembered fondly by the “Idol” faithful. She made the top 20 in the short-lived and unsuccessful spinoff four years ago, and now that she’s 16 she figured she would come back and wow the judges again. “I can take what I’ve learned from that and use it now to my advantage,” she said.

The judges weren’t impressed with the resume, although they were straight-faced enough with their criticism to fool her. “That was a very interesting show,” Randy remembered. Simon said he wore out the DVDs of all the episodes because “I just love hearing kids that age sing!”

Weekend war in U.S.: "The Eye" vs. "Hannah Montana"

"The reason we picked this weekend is for that exact reason," said Steve Rothenberg, the theatrical distribution chief for "The Eye's" Lionsgate Films. "We hope that females will say, 'You guys stay home and eat the chips, but we're going out to see a movie.' "

"From the very beginning, our goal was to create a classy horror thriller, not a movie that relied on gore and exploitative shock," said Don Granger, a producer of "The Eye."

The shock for "Hannah Montana" is different. Rather than charge the usual 8 dollars or so for admission into Disney's concert movie, a number of movie theaters have nearly tripled the tariff to as much as 20, which Los Angeles' the Bridge Cinema De Lux is charging. They are able to extract so much in part because the movie will be in theaters only for a week (although Disney may extend the run by a week if the film opens strongly) and because it's in 3D.

Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com, the top online ticket sellers, said "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" accounted for more than three-quarters of their ticket sales as of Wednesday morning.

Fandango.com said "Hannah Montana" was the site's best-selling concert film ever, selling out more than 1,000 showings and accounting for 91 percent of sales as of Wednesday morning.

For those with no pre-pubescent girls around the house, 15-year-old Miley Cyrus is the real-life equivalent of a Wii video game console: There's just not enough of her to go around.

Pitt suspicious of Jolie's on-screen romance

BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- Sometimes on-screen romance leads to off-screen romance. Just ask Brad Pitt who hooked up with Angelina Jolie while filming "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

That may be why Pitt is feeling a bit edgy about Jolie's love scenes with co-star James McAvoy in her upcoming film "Wanted." In fact, Life & Style magazine says Pitt is jealous. Apparently, Pitt had difficulty watching Jolie and McAvoy share a passionate kiss.

"The changes meant she spent way more time with James, and the sexual tension got a lot more intense." The L&S insider added that the co-stars became extremely close while filming, and the further inclusion of a nude bath scene "was entirely Angelina's idea."

BEIJING, Jan. 31 -- Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban are using their celebrity status to branch out to the fashion-design world. The celebrity couple are planning to unveil their own clothing line, naming it "Hank Evie."

On using "Hank Evie" to name their fashion line, it is reported that the two words actually are the separate names Nicole and Keith used to call each other while they were still in the early stages of their relationship.

Keith openly revealed during a fan question-and-answer session that he would call Nicole "Evie" during the early stages of their relationship, while she would call him "Hank."

On their clothing line, Keith reportedly has already trademarked "Hank Evie" in both Australia and the U.S., with concert T-shirts as the only item being sold until recently. The couple will later on expand their collection, adding among others pajamas, boxers, belt buckles and other items into their fashion line.

NEW YORK (AP) - Madonna is the richest woman in music. The 49-year-old entertainer leads Forbes.com's list of the top 20 "Cash Queens of Music," earning $72 million between June 2006 and June 2007.

The pop star's "Confessions" world tour pulled in $260 million, Forbes said. She also made money from album sales, her fashion line with H&M and a deal with NBC to broadcast her concert performance at London's Wembley Stadium.

Forbes.com said it compiled the list by examining concert grosses, merchandising revenue, album sales and other revenue from clothing lines, fragrance deals and endorsements.

Barbra Streisand is No. 2 with $60 million, thanks to her comeback tour of North America and Europe.

Celine Dion ranks third with $45 million, largely from her successful "A New Day" show in Las Vegas, which she wrapped up in December after a five-year engagement at Caesars Palace.

Famous glamorous female bodyguard killed in Moscow

BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Anna Loginova, Russia's most famous and glamorous female bodyguard, has been killed in Moscow while trying to defend her Porsche Cayenne from a hijacker, media reported.

Loginova, also a former model and the head of a private security firm, on Sunday tried to fight off the carjacker and clung to the door handle. She was killed after being dragged along the street at high speed as the car screeched away.

"She suffered serious injuries and died at the scene," said a police spokesman.

Loginova was a famous Russian model before venturing into the security business and had shot advertising campaigns for BMW, Chanel and other world-known brands.

New Miss America Opens Up About Anorexia Battle

Three years ago Kirsten Haglund was so painfully thin, her parents dragged her to a doctor. On Saturday – after a long struggle with anorexia – the teen looked curvy, toned and confident as she strutted her way to the Miss America crown.

Afterward, the 19-year-old Broadway hopeful, who belted out "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for her talent, said she will devote her yearlong reign to raising eating-disorder awareness with the Childrens Miracle Network.

At the height of her illness, anorexia wreaked havoc on her body and threatened her relationships with others, the Farmington Hills, Mich., native told the Associated Press.

"I would feel fatigued walking up six stairs," she said. "I was a completely different person. It's not a pretty sight."

Now, thanks to regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle, Haglund is proud of developing a healthy relationship with food – and her own body.

"You have to have curves, you can't look like a stick-thin model," said the new title-holder, who confirmed that before the competition, she happily ate the chocolates left on her pillow in her Las Vegas hotel suite.

"Yes, oh my gosh, yes," the 5-foot 8-inch blonde (who doesn't disclose her weight to avoid setting standards for scale-obsessed youths) told the AP. "I love chocolate. Chocolates are a girl's best friend."

While Haglund said she wasn't about to "let myself go," she says she doesn't plan on skipping any meals over the year. "I'm going to enjoy my food."

LONDON — Princess Diana feared her boyfriend's father was spying on her as the couple took a luxurious Mediterranean cruise, Diana's sister said Monday.

The princess believed the yacht she and Dodi Fayed were vacationing aboard had been bugged by Dodi's father, Mohammed Al Fayed, her sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale told an inquest investigating Diana and Dodi's deaths.

"She thought the boat was being bugged by Mr. Al Fayed senior," McCorquodale said, telling the court that Diana shared the concern during a phone conversation from the yacht. McCorquodale said she assumed the princess was talking over a mobile phone.
