Gates of Vienna News Feed 12/15/2010The United States Justice Department is attempting to construct a conspiracy case against Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks. If Mr. Assange worked with the person who released the leaked classified American material, or actually encouraged the unauthorized release of the material, he could be indicted for conspiracy under American law. Whether he could actually be extradited to stand trial in the USA, however, is another matter entirely.

In other news, a bar in the South Wales city of Swansea has come under fire from anti-racism activists for advertising a drink known as the “Suicide Bomber”. The concoction is made from absinthe and pineapple juice, and is said to be offensive to Muslims and anyone who has been a victim of violence.
