REVIEW:Tamizhagam would hold a dharna in all district headquarters on Sept 9 to highlight alleged “largescale corruption” in implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme, party leader Dr.Krishnaswamy today said.
Subsequently, the Dalit-based party would hold a rally in Chennai and Delhi at a date to be fixed later, he said briefing newsmen about the resolutions passed at the party’s Executive Committee meeting held here.
He said NREGP scheme benefitted people living below the Poverty Line. Though the wage fixed was Rs.100, most of the beneficiaries only received between Rs.20 and Rs 40, he charged.
The Executive Committee also welcomed Union HRD Minister Kabil Sibal’s suggestion that Hindi should be the medium of instruction in schools and said the meeting resolved that Hindi should be taught to students in schools and colleges
Audio for the film Thamizhagam was launched yesterday at AVM Theatres. Ace Director K.Bhagyaraj launched the audio with producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu receiving the first copy. The film is produced under the banner of Madha Movie Makers and is slated to hit the screens by next month.
