Sriharikota, Jul 12: ISRO, India's space agency on Monday, Jul 12 successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket, into orbit remote sensing satellite Cartosat-2B and four other satellites.ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan said that he is extremely happy to say that PSLV C-15 was a successful fligt. He added that all the satellites were injected precisely.
The new PSLV, 44 metres tall, soared with the five satellites together weighing 819 kg, from Sriharikota spaceport.The main cargo, Cartosat-2B weighs 694 kg. Another satellite the Alsat-2A, the Algerian remote sensing satellite weighs 116 kg. It also include two nano satellites NLS 6.1 AISSAT-1 weighing 6.5 kg (built by the University of Toronto, Canada) and one kg NLS 6.2 TISAT built by University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. The fifth other is STUDSAT, a pico satellite weighing less than one kg, built jointly by students of seven engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.The rocket first released Cartosat-2B twenty minutes after the blast off. It was followed by Alsat-2A and the three small satellites.

The husband of Brittany Murphy was found dead at his Los Angeles home late Sunday, five months after the Hollywood actress died, police said.The body of British screenwriter Simon Monjack was found late Sunday night at his residence in the Hollywood Hills, police spokesman Sgt. Louie Lozano said.
The preliminary cause of death is natural causes, he told The Associated Press.
Lozano said investigators were still at the scene early Monday and he couldn’t provide more details on the 39-year-old Monjack’s death.“They’re conducting the investigation and they have not relayed any more information back to us yet,” he said.At his wife’s funeral in December, a visibly emotional Monjack talked about their relationship and called her his best friend and soul mate. The two married in 2007.
A month after his wife’s death, Monjack said the two had been planning a family and contemplating a move to New York.
Murphy died Dec. 20, at age 32 after collapsing in her home. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office concluded Murphy’s death was accidental, but likely preventable.
The coroner’s report said that the medications found in her system were consistent with treatment of a cold or respiratory infection. Monjack and Murphy’s mother had reported the actress was ill with flu-like symptoms in the days before her death.
An autopsy found no evidence that Murphy abused drugs. Investigators found numerous prescription medications in the actress’ home.

The curtain will go up on the fourth edition of what is being presented as the ‘biggest Open Festival of India’ – Chennai Sangamam 2010 here on January 16.Announcing this at a press conference here Rajya Sabha MP and daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi Karimozhi, who is the Co-ordinator of the increasingly popular event, said the festival this year would have three new facets. One, would be a ”colourful” Folk Dances competition between Chennai City Corporates and the Colleges. More than 30 colleges and corporates had enrolled for this event. The finalists would be awarded dring the ‘Grand Finale’ on January 16, she said.
More than 20 Wetern Music bands in the city would also be performing in this inclusive event, she said, adding the bands would be performing Tamil Rock and Folk. The bands would also have a competition among themselves on the theme of ‘World Peace”. The third new major addition this year would be the integration of the performing teams from some of the city colleges in the festival.They would perform to folk themes and rhythms, she said. Poetry and literary sessions, Tamil documentary festival, folk programmes and food festivals with a new element of oriental cuisine would be the other ‘ingredients’ of the festival this year, ‘Tamil Mayam’ convenor Jagat Gasparaj said.
Answering questions Kanimozhi pointed out that ‘Tamil Mayam’ which has introduced this event was hoping that it would become part of Tamil Nadu government’s schemes to protect our ancient and traditional culture and art forms.”We cannot set up a corpus fund. The idea was to help the artists and the art forms, which had been hitherto languishing, to preserve and earn a livelihood.Referring to the fulfilment of this objective, she said already Thanjavur university had set up a seperate faculty for study of folk arts.

When you meld that trait with a known penchant for harboring guns, you have a threat. That's what Gilbert has to be considered now. At the very least, he's a threat to this image-conscious league's perception in the public eye. At the worst … well, Jayson Williams has been on my mind this week, and not because he was arrested on a DUI charge Tuesday. Long before Arenas and his quirky Agent Zero persona came along, Williams was the reigning prankster in the NBA. Williams told jokes at the expense of Yinka Dare and Benoit Benjamin and was one of the best quotes in the NBA. Then in 2002, after he had retired, he was accused of killing a chauffeur while playing around with a shotgun in his house (manslaughter charges resulted in a mistrial and an acquittal).
Maybe Arenas is the type who would pull the trigger only under the most extreme circumstances, if he or his family members were in danger. But I don't give him the benefit of the doubt on any judgment calls now, not when he could be so reckless and put the remaining $80 million of his contract in jeopardy.
There's a history of money squabbles prompting player-to-player hostility in the NBA, with perpetrators from Charles Oakley to Kobe Bryant. And there have even been tales of players pulling guns on teammates before, including Vernon Maxwell getting his gat after an argument with Houston Rockets teammate Carl Herrera. But Arenas crossed a line when he tried to end his card-game argument with Javaris Crittenton with a display of guns in the locker room, a blatant violation of David Stern's ban on firearms on NBA property.
