Ipl Auction Latest News Update,Ipl Cricket Schedule 2010

There are no English names in the IPL's list of the 51 players who will be involved in the auction for the 2010 season. Lalit Modi, the IPL commissioner, told Cricinfo this is because of "new conditions imposed by the ECB".

The original list of 97 players, released on Saturday, was pared down to 96 after Chris Cairns' name was removed; the current list comprises players whom the franchises have specifically selected for the auction.

It is not immediately clear whether English players will be added before the auction, on January 19, though the IPL website says the list released on Wednesday is the "complete list". Those on the original list were Tim Bresnan, Anthony McGrath, Eoin Morgan, Monty Panesar, Adil Rashid, Jonathan Trott, Usman Afzaal and James Foster.

While there has been no official explanation for the stand-off from either side, it is likely the dispute concerns the overlap between the English domestic season, which begins on April 9, and the IPL, which ends on April 25.

The "complete" list released on Wednesday features 11 players from Australia, nine from South Africa, eight from Sri Lanka and West Indies, seven from Pakistan, four from New Zealand and one each from Bangladesh, Canada, Holland and Zimbabwe.

Those who've made the cut include Kieron Pollard (West Indies), Shane Bond (New Zealand), Mohammed Aamer, Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal (Pakistan), Peter Siddle, Brad Haddin and Doug Bollinger (Australia) and Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh).

Pollard and the Pakistanis - the current world Twenty20 champions - are likely to be the marquee names at the auction but there are a couple of others whose appearance on the list is interesting. Damien Martyn, formerly with the ICL, has not played international cricket since 2006; Daren Ganga is not part of the West Indies set-up but impressed with his captaincy of Trinidad & Tobago during the Champions League late last year.

It's not yet known how many slots are vacant among the franchises but on his Twitter page Modi said he expected 10-12 slots to be free.
