YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has announced his resignation from the Congress in the first step towards launching his own party. Jagan was the MP from Kadapa. His mother, Vijayalaxmi, has also resigned as MLA from Pulivendula Assembly seat.Mr. Reddy wrote an open letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi informing her about his decision and expressing anguish at what he called the attempts of the party leaders to isolate and expel him.“I resign from primary membership of Congress and Lok Sabha. The AICC has insulted me repeatedly in the last 14 months. I was not treated with the respect I deserve. My father’s legacy was hijacked by others and I was not allowed to continue my Odarpu yatra,” said Jagan in his letter Since his father died, Jagan Mohan has been keen on projecting himself as a mass leader. Jagan has been defying Congress leadership by going on ‘Odarpu yatra’ (consolation) reportedly to meet and console the family members of people who committed suicide of died of shock following the death of his father YS Rajashekhar Reddy. The Result of Ayodhya verdict in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will decide whether the 2.7 acres of disputed land on which the Babri Masjid stood before it was demolished on December 6, 1992, belongs to the Sunni Central Waqf Board or to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Chief Justice of India HS Kapadia read out a one-line order to reject the petition of retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi, who had sought that the verdict be deferred and the matter be settled through reconciliation. Justice Kapadia said, “Having considered the detailed arguments advanced in this cases, we are of the view that the special leave petitions deserve to be dismissed.The court heard arguments for over two-and-a-half hours before announcing its order. The decision of the three-judge bench – comprising Chief Justice Kapadia, Justice Aftab Alam and Justice KS Radhakrishnan – was unanimous.
The Centre has, meanwhile, appealed to people of the nation to keep calm once the judgement is announced. Both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have issued appeals
