‘Apartment’ is the latest upcoming psychological thriller, directed by Jagmohan Mundhra, of the ‘Provogue’ and ‘Bawander’ fame. Produced by Nari Hira and Vikram Hira, the movie is being presented by Magna Films, starring Rohit Roy, Tanushree Dutta, Neetu Chandra, Anupam Kher, Bobby Darling, Mushtaq Khan and Nassar Abdulla. The music has been given by Bappa Lahiri and the lyrics are by Syed Gulrez. The movie portrays real-life issues set in today’s Mumbai, where life is fast paced. The story revolves around the risks of sharing an apartment with strangers, a common phenomenon in Mumbai. ‘Apartment’ is set to release on April 23, 2010.Preeti Sengupta (Tanushree Dutta), an airhostess, and her boyfriend Karan Malhotra (Rohit Roy) are happily residing in an apartment located in the northern suburbs of Mumbai. Madhusudan Tanha (Anupam Kher) is a struggling poet and lyricist, living in the neighborhood of Preeti and Karan. Tanha lives alone with a Persian cat called Shaehzadi, his only companion. Preeti is domineering and finds difficulties in trusting Karan. On the context of her boyfriend being unfaithful and two-timing, she asks him to leave the abode, but soon realizes that she cannot afford the apartment alone. Hence, Preeti starts looking for a tenant to share her apartment with. Enter Neha Bhardwaj (Neetu Chandra), a small town girl looking for accommodation.
Both Preeti and Neha share a good rapport and become good companions. However, this is just the beginning of the troubles that Preeti is yet to face. A number of incidents happen which turn Preeti’s normal life like a bolt from the blue. Are these incidents only a co-incidence or is it Neha behind the unforeseen and gruesome events? What’s more, a murder takes place to worsen the situation separating Preeti and Neha out of suspicion and deceit. Among all these situations, will Karan and Preeti be able to unite again?
